Coolsculpting Elite, the original of Cryolipolysis

ELITE, Austria premiere: the latest development of the original COOLSCULPTING the global market leader in cryotherapy.

In brief

The new CoolSculpting Elite treatment is an innovative method for non-surgical body shaping and fat reduction. This outstanding technology makes it possible to get rid of unwanted fat deposits and improve your body contour without the need for surgery. The treatment uses controlled cold to treat fat cells in specific areas of the body.

The procedure is based on the scientific principle of cryolipolysis, in which fat cells are selectively frozen while surrounding tissue remains undamaged. The frozen fat cells are gradually broken down and eliminated naturally by the body. The treatment can be applied to various areas of the body, including the abdomen, hips, thighs, upper arms, back and double chin.

What motivates people to undergo Coolsculpting?

Do you eat a healthy diet? Are you sporty and active? But are you still struggling with stubborn fat deposits? Especially as you get older, extra pounds are difficult to get rid of. You could simply have the fat removed by liposuction. But would you like to try a non-invasive alternative instead of surgery?

This is the aim of cryolipolysis. The fatty tissue is reduced locally in approx. 35 minutes.

What is Coolsculpting ELITE?

The medical procedure is known as cryolipolysis. “Cryo” stands for cold and “lipolysis” for the “melting” of fatty tissue. Thanks to the manufacturer’s groundbreaking success, “Coolsculping” has become synonymous with cryolipolysis over the last 10 years and has since become the undisputed market leader.

Unlike conventional liposuction, neither a scalpel nor anesthesia is required. The targeted application of cold initiates a programmed cell death in the fatty tissue. This leads to a visible reduction in volume over a few weeks. In just a few sessions, a slimmer silhouette is possible without surgery. The ELITE system is the manufacturer’s latest development and is available in Austria exclusively from Dr. Lutfi.

Who is cryolipolysis suitable for?

In principle, this method of fat reduction is suitable for anyone who suffers from stubborn fat deposits. The effect is most noticeable with small to moderate amounts of fat. There are decisive advantages compared to liposuction alone. The low time and organizational effort of the treatment is highly appreciated by patients. Even with a hectic working day and a tight private schedule, this treatment makes it possible to reduce fatty tissue. The treatment and recovery time is significantly shorter than with surgery.

Sagging, loose connective tissue can simulate fat deposits. In this case, liposuction alone will not provide a satisfactory result. Instead, more invasive methods such as a surgical tightening or, for less pronounced areas, a body tightening must be considered.

Who is it not suitable for?

Cryolipolysis offers a remarkable method of fat reduction for a variety of body regions. All fat-reducing treatments, such as liposuction, Bodytite or Coolsculpting, should of course only be used if sufficient fatty tissue is present. If there is too little fatty tissue, this treatment is certainly not suitable. The other extreme is a general, massive overweight. In this case, there will be a superficial improvement, but rarely complete satisfaction.

When is the best time?

Cryolipolysis is an aesthetic treatment. In general, there is no time pressure here. You can choose the time of your treatment yourself. We generally offer these treatments all year round. Unlike liposuction, it is not necessary to wear compression garments, which is why the warmer months are also very popular.

The first step towards a lifestyle change can be difficult. Coolsculpting often has a motivating effect.

How does the treatment work?

As part of the initial consultation, you will first receive information, photo documentation and a detailed medical history. Here you will have the opportunity to discuss your desired shape in peace and quiet. You will then make an appointment for your treatment in the practice. Despite the high demand, we will do our best to offer you your desired appointment as quickly as possible.

On the day of treatment, our staff will first apply a protective gel to the area to be treated. No special pain ointments or pain infusions are required for the treatment. You will lie comfortably while an applicator is placed on the area to be treated. The fatty tissue is sucked in and carefully cooled down. You can rest, read a magazine or listen to music. Immediately after the treatment, you can resume your normal activities, including sport.

What type of anesthesia is necessary?

No anesthesia or sedation is necessary during the treatment. You are fully conscious and can read the newspaper or surf the Internet during the procedure.

Can the procedure be combined with other procedures?

Coolsculpting is an excellent method for reducing medium-sized fat deposits. If you already have sagging skin due to loose connective tissue, additional tightening of the treated area may be necessary. However, this would be seen before the treatment and will be discussed with you in detail.

Surgical and conservative alternative

The surgical alternative to cryolipolysis is conventional liposuction. With this operation, larger areas can be treated at the same time and shaped in a more targeted manner. However, this is an operation that usually takes place under sedation. After liposuction, consistent compression in the form of compression garments should be worn for approx. 4-6 weeks. For this reason, appointments are usually chosen in the colder months.

Another frequently used method is the Bodytite procedure. Here, an electrode is used to apply heat under the skin or into the fatty tissue. Unlike a cold treatment using coolscuplting, the fat cells are melted. However, the melted cells must also be removed as part of a conventional liposuction procedure, although this results in a visible tightening of the connective tissue and skin.

Is this treatment carried out on an outpatient or inpatient basis?

A Coolsculpting treatment only requires a short outpatient stay of 35-70 minutes. This means that treatments can also be booked in between, e.g. during a lunch break. We offer cryolipolysis 6 days a week, which means that appointments can be made at short notice.

Risks and complications

The procedure is extremely safe and non-invasive. The likelihood of complications is extremely low.
In rare cases, there is a slight feeling of pressure, minimal stinging or tingling and a discreet burning sensation during the treatment.

These symptoms are minor, so it is not necessary to anesthetize the area to be treated. After treatment, the area is reddened and slightly swollen, comparable to a giant “hickey”.

Accompanying symptoms such as bruising or temporary numbness are normal and quickly subside within the first 1-2 weeks. Much rarer side effects are pain or cold burns that set in later.

The risk of these complications is significantly reduced with the latest generation of Coolsculpting Elite thanks to another patented technology, a kind of “frost protection”. A special fleece prevents direct contact between the device and the skin. In extremely rare cases, approx. 0.05%, fat tissue may increase in the treated area. This complication is extremely unlikely. In this case, the region should initially be treated conservatively.

What can be done in the event of complications?

If, contrary to expectations, complications occur, we will not leave you to deal with them alone. After the operation, you will be given an emergency number where you can reach us 24 hours a day.

Healing and progress

Once patients have decided to have surgery, there is great anticipation of the result. However, depending on the procedure, there is a long way to go. You will need to be patient until the final result is achieved. If you know what to expect before your planned operation, this path will be easier.

How long does the healing process take?

Initially, the treated area is sensitive and somewhat swollen. The swelling will have disappeared after 3-5 weeks. However, sports can be resumed immediately. Naturally

Of course, these time recommendations are guidelines based on our experience, which sometimes require individual adjustment.

Your body will take as much time as it needs.

Is the treatment painful

Cryolipolysis is not painful. Immediately after applying the attachment, the fatty tissue is sucked in and treated with cold. This cold is initially unpleasant and can feel like a slight pulling sensation. The following 35 minutes of treatment are painless.

Once the cooling is complete, the fatty tissue must be massaged for 2 minutes. This massage is necessary to avoid subsequent irregularities. This massage may cause slight pain. In the days following the treatment, the region should be massaged independently.

When can the final result be expected?

Slight swelling may still be visible at the 3-month check-up. This usually disappears after 6-9 months at the latest.

What should patients plan to do?

In contrast to surgery, the Coolsculpting treatment does not require a great deal of planning. The duration of treatment and stay are very short. The only thing to bear in mind is that the final results can be seen after approx. 12 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Coolsculpting ELITE treatment cost?

The price for cryolipolysis depends on the number of regions and starts at €700 for smaller regions. If additional treatment is required for several regions, this will affect the treatment time and therefore the price. In combination with other procedures, such as autologous fat grafting or Bodytite, combination prices can be offered.
